F\u00f6r att fr\u00e4mja handeln mellan medlemsl\u00e4nderna i EU g\u00e4ller principen om fri r\u00f6rlighet av varor. Men n\u00e4r du och ditt f\u00f6retag d\u00e4remot ska importera varor fr\u00e5n ett land utanf\u00f6r EU \u00e4r det lite andra regler som g\u00e4ller. I regel beh\u00f6ver mottagaren av varorna alltid betala tull och eventuellt \u00e4ven andra avgifter vid importen. Handelsavtal mellan EES och EU<\/b><\/h3>\n

Island \u00e4r inte medlemmar i EU trots att de ans\u00f6kte om medlemskap redan 2009. Under anslutningsf\u00f6rhandlingar \u00e5r 2013 valde den isl\u00e4ndska regeringen att frysa ans\u00f6kan och har sedan dess inte \u00e5terupptagit processen och meddelade 2021 att de kommer satsa p\u00e5 att st\u00e4rka samarbetet mellan EU och EES ist\u00e4llet. Island \u00e4r allts\u00e5 medlemmar i EES – Europeiska ekonomiska samarbetsomr\u00e5det – tillsammans med Schweiz och Lichtenstein. EES \u00e4r ett samarbete mellan EU och EES medlemsl\u00e4nder och regleras genom EES-avtalet.
